Hail, Holy Mary (Salve Regina)

This is a child page of Pray to Our Lady and Other Prayers

The Hail Holy Queen prayer,  is recited at the end of the Rosary and is also used in night prayers. It dates back to around the 11th century and is still sung today as a hymn in various forms, among them a beautiful chant.

Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To thee we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy towards us, And after this our exile, show unto us the blessed Fruit of they womb, Jesus.

O clement. O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary. Pray for us, O holy Mother of God That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Amen
